Word for the Week
Under The Mighty Hand Of God
Submitted by admin on Mon, 02/05/2011 - 7:46pm
Recently, I had been praying earnestly and believing God for some things. I went on in faith with confidence everything would fall into place exactly. To my shock, I didn’t get what it was I was so confident about. I was so disappointed and became angry with God. I had prayed in faith and gone ahead planning that it was all going to be alright. Meanwhile, I didn’t know how to deal with my anger which I knew was a sin. After a while, I had to go back to God and confess my sin; also I asked Him to deal with the anger I didn’t know I had at the time.
God Is Light
Submitted by admin on Mon, 02/05/2011 - 7:46pm
Light - irrepressible light, light full of goodness and splendour and creativity - is part of the very nature of God, by whose Word the worlds were brought into being. In the beginning, before time, the Power behind the universe commanded, "Let there be light!" and the sun, moon and stars were flung into space, unbelievably intricate and beautiful. Eons later, in the dimness of a fallen world, the divine concept was echoed by One who announced with disarming simplicity, “I am the Light Of The World” …
Call To Holiness - Part 1
Submitted by admin on Mon, 02/05/2011 - 7:46pm
The word holy means to be ‘set apart’ unto a special purpose. In the biblical context, this is being set apart unto God. Many Christians think holiness is something for Pastors, ministers and high ranking church officials. We forget that holiness is a requirement of God for every Christian. Indeed He says ‘... Be ye holy for I am holy 1 Peter 1:16’ If indeed this Scripture is true, then we need to re-examine our lives, and ask God to do a new and continuous work in us.
David and Bathsheba - Part 3
Submitted by admin on Mon, 02/05/2011 - 7:46pm
A story of sin, judgement, repentance and restoration
Part 3: God’s judgement
In this series we are looking at the story of David and Bathsheba. The story marks the lowest point of David’s spiritual life but it also provides one of the best examples of God’s mercy and kindness and has many parallels with the New Testament. Importantly the story gives us many practical warnings and lessons to apply to our lives today.
Christian Commitment

God is totally committed to us
God has promised His total commitment to us, from the time we are born to the time we die. Nothing can break His commitment to us.
Isaiah 46:4 “I will be your God throughout your lifetime – until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.”

Part 4: Restoration
In this series we are looking at the story of David and Bathsheba. A Man Of Like Passions - Part 1
Submitted by admin on Mon, 02/05/2011 - 7:46pm
1 Kings 17:1-2; James 5:17. This week, we will be starting a study of the life of a Man of God, Elijah. We will see what God can teach us from his life. James commented that Elijah was a man of like passions as we are. This means he went through all the kinds of things we are going through today, was an ordinary man yet obtained the testimony of being a great prophet of God. We will proceed with our study in two parts:
A Man of Like Passions - Part 2.
Submitted by admin on Mon, 02/05/2011 - 7:46pm
1 Kings 18,19. Last week we began to study the life of Elijah. We looked at understanding the times and purpose of God in our lives, drawing on the example of Elijah. From this we discovered the necessity of knowing what God is doing at specific times and our place in it. We also saw that boldness and authority come when we walk with the spirit of God in difficult times like he did.
Developing a Christ-like character: Self Control
Submitted by admin on Mon, 02/05/2011 - 7:46pm
This week we start a new series looking at the key aspects of the Christian character. Over the next few weeks we will explore how Jesus wants to develop our character to make us more like Him.
Waiting for His Promise
Submitted by admin on Mon, 02/05/2011 - 7:46pm
Hebrews10:36. This week we will be focusing on a topic which has been of importance to everyone who has developed a relationship with God. Every believer knows that while some prayers are speedily answered, some others take time. This time of waiting can be hard and frustrating without the help of God. We see different examples in the Scriptures of how people handled the waiting time between the receiving of a promise and its fulfilment.
