Departments
Evangelism
This department handles distribution of tracts and church flyers to individuals and homes in Newcastle, Sunderland and Gateshead. They also go out to various locations on evangelism where they hand out tracts and make one-to-one contact with individuals preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. They also follow up new converts and people who have indicated interest in Christianity.
Prayer
The prayer department handles prayer matters on behalf of the whole church. The schedule covers intercessory prayers for members of the church, the city, the people and the government. It also includes spiritual warfare, which entails praying through the night on some occasions against the forces of darkness. They hold prayer seminars and retreats for the members of the team every quarter. They also attend prayer events within the UK.
Ushering
The ushers are the first point of contact for the congregation and visitors in the church premises. The schedule of work includes meeting and greeting, handing out church bulletins to the members and visitors on arrival at the venue of the church services. They also help with the serving of snacks, tea and coffee after services. They also prepare and serve the Holy Communion elements during communion services. Their job also entails collection of offerings, tithes and donations during church services.
Technical
The technical crew has a mission to capture and give audio-visual expression to the gospel to all within and outside the church that all may see, hear and fear God. The responsibilities of the team include setting up public address systems for church services, conferences, outreaches and seminars. They also attend to the production of CDs of preaching and teaching messages and video recordings for distribution to the public.
Music
The music department, which incorporates both the praise and worship team and the choir. They sing spirit-inspired songs aimed at leading people into God’s presence, ministering comfort and joy to the people of God. Their vibrant praise and worship sessions also have a strong element of spiritual warfare consistent with the vision of the church. The schedule involves weekly rehearsals and auditions for intending members of the team. The music department host music seminars, Night-Of-Gospels musical events which attract Christians and non-Christians from the city and surrounding areas. The department also organises Family Fun day events which includes bouncy castles, football, fitness sessions, basketball, face-painting and barbeque.
Children
The Children department is responsible for children from the age of 0 – 8 years. The activities of the department include, nurturing the children in the fear of God through children-centred biblical teachings, providing crèche facilities for toddlers and nursing mothers. They play a crucial role in preserving the future generations and ensuring that the knowledge and worship of God is properly passed on to the next generation.
Youth
The youth department or young adults department has the role of raising a generation of youths between ages 9 – 17 whose hearts burn and yearn after God. The prime aim being to help them in their formative years to discover the revelation of the word of God and make commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ as they are faced with peer-pressure and ungodliness in the society in which they live. It also aims to channel the strength and exuberance of youths towards promoting the gospel. They also involve themselves in organising field trips, games, youth conferences, talk shows, and motivational seminars. This goes with the saying that a church without youths is a church without a future.
Information Technology
The IT department aims at facilitating the church’s execution of the great commission through informed deployment of IT infrastructure. This involves influencing the procurement of relevant IT solutions, design, deployment and maintenance of the church website, setting up and routine maintenance of computers systems and networks. They work hand-in-hand with all the departments of the church to ensure their operations can be further enhanced and optimised through the influence of modern technology.
Women
The women’s department aims at preserving the dignity of womanhood through influencing our women with godly values. This set goal is being achieved through organising seminars and conferences, providing moral support for women and nurturing young women with godly character. The department’s role is crucial in preserving God-ordained family values in a society with decaying morals.
Finance
The finance department has the sole responsibility of maintaining the church accounts.
Administration
The administration team is the interface between the church leadership and the various units/departments of the church. Personal details and contacts of members are managed by the department. It also organises events on behalf of the different departments of the church. It maintains liaisons with other churches, the public and the government. The team provides an essential link between departments ensuring that they work together as a body and that the church operations run smoothly.
Courtship and Marriage Counselling
The department holds bible-based advisory sessions with members intending to go into courtship and marriage relationships. The team organises seminars on marital issues, one-to-one advisory sessions on Christian courtship, marriage, and other marital issues. The aim of this department is to ensure that members enter into marriage relationships in a godly manner.
Crusades and Outreaches
This team is responsible for organising the various outreach events including
large-scale open-air crusades held by the church. This requires ensuring that there
are enough logistical and spiritual preparations prior to the outreaches. It also co-ordinates ministers, gospel choreographers and musicians that feature in the outreaches.
Discipleship
The discipleship department drives the church’s vision through empowering the believers with sound knowledge of God’s Word. This involves organising New Believers Classes, Baptismal Classes, and Bible Foundation Classes on Sundays. The department also organises the church’s House Groups in various parts of the city, training house group leaders and developing house group materials.
Transport
The transport team oversees the logistics of the church in all its transport operations. This entails moving people, musical and technical equipment to the venue of the church services on Sundays, Christian events and outreaches. The department also oversees the maintenance of the church minibuses.
Prison Ministry
This arm of the church reaches out to inmates in the prisons with the aim of bringing the gospel of Jesus Christ to them.
